A good option is a regular wicker basket. It is easy to use, but it is not very easy to care for it because of the weaving. It is better not to use this option if you have a long-term transportation of a cat.

A completely different thing is a plastic box. It has rigid walls that allow the cat not to experience discomfort during transportation. In addition, the plastic is easy to clean with warm water. Such boxes are the best option for transporting a pet, they are suitable even for long trips.
Fabric bag
If you need to take your pet to the doctor or, for example, to the country, you can completely get by with a cloth bag. These bags are easy to store and require little maintenance. It is enough to wash such a bag in a typewriter. However, due to poor ventilation, such carriers are completely unsuitable for traveling long distances. Be careful when using such a bag as a carrier: a kitten or cat can easily jump out of there.
Frame bags
Frame bags allow you to transport a cat over long distances, as they are quite strong and at the same time flexible. The cat will be able to feel very comfortable. An important element of such bags is the presence of a special window through which the pet can see the owner, this will allow him to be less nervous.

The choice of carrier depends on the purpose of transportation and on the distance. If you have a long trip, it is best to take a frame bag or a plastic box. But to the veterinarian it is quite possible to take a cat in a cloth bag, and sometimes in a backpack.
It is important that the carrier has adequate ventilation.
It should be borne in mind that carrying must be taken for growth. If the kitten was only taken to the veterinary clinic in a carrier, this can cause him unpleasant associations and stress every time you take out the carrier. To avoid this, you can try to initially put it next to the place where the pet sleeps. It is very good if the kitten will play or sleep in it. This will allow him to quickly get used to carrying and in the future will create fewer problems during transportation.
