Character

Puggle is a “designer” dog breed, which means that the dog is not a purebred, but obtained by crossing two breeds. This is a rare breed, and it is considered “designer” for its unusual appearance, obtained by crossing very different purebred dog breeds – for example, dachshunds and rottweiler (taxirot) or pit bull and husky (pitsky). The combinations can be quite unexpected. Among the most popular representatives of this group are maltipu, labradoodle and, for example, kavapa. Often the breeders of these dogs hope to get a pet that will have the best qualities of the breeds of its parents.

Puggle – the result of the union beagle and pug, it was bred in the 1990s in the USA.

From the pug he inherited sociability and good nature. He can become a companion for both a single person and a family with children. Puggle is good with kids and gets along well with schoolchildren.

From the beagle hunter, the pug got stamina and activity. Despite its small size, the dog is able to play and walk for a long time. For joint jogging, a dog of this breed is not very suitable, but it is an excellent companion for hiking.

Behaviour

From both parents, the pugl received stubbornness and independence. He understands everything, but he may simply not want to follow the command. So the owner must stock up on patience and goodies. Your pet responds best to positive reinforcement in the form of food and praise.

The sociable pugl quickly finds a common language with both animals and people. He is not aggressive and is able to compromise. By the way, these dogs make good guards. They are happy to notify the owner about the guest when he rings the doorbell. However, having a friendly nature, the pugl is unlikely to be able to protect himself or his family.

However, not everything is so rosy in education representatives of this breed. Like the Beagle, the Puggle is very curious, so when walking, its owner should be careful when releasing the pet from the leash. A squirrel, a cat, or something else can captivate his attention so much that the pet can easily get lost.

Puggle Care

The short, dense coat of the pugl requires regular grooming combing hard brush. It is necessary to devote at least 5-10 minutes a day to this process. Bathe animals infrequently, once a month will be enough.

Particular attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the folds of the skin and eyes of the dog. With insufficient care, infectious diseases can develop in them.

A number of genetic diseases have also been inherited from Pagle’s ancestors: hip dysplasia, breathing problems, which depend on the degree of flattening of the muzzle, and eye diseases.

Conditions of detention

The Puggle is a compact dog that will make a devoted urban companion. He feels comfortable in a city apartment, subject to sufficient walks. This active dog should be walked two to three times a day. It is very important to exhaust the pugl – for him it will be a real canine happiness.
