The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is a small terrier originally from Great Britain, more precisely from Scotland. His ancestors are the Skye Terrier and the now extinct Scottish Terrier. The first mention of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier dates back to the 17th century. Moreover, it is interesting that this breed was especially popular among the gypsies: they used small dogs in the fight against rodents. A little later, dogs began to accompany English hunters of burrowing animals, including badgers, martens, weasels and foxes.
Today, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier is most commonly kept as a companion dog. These dogs are valued for their kindness, cheerful disposition and sociability.
Representatives of the breed are very warm to all family members. This dog is human-oriented and needs constant attention and affection. She will be happy only next to a loving owner.
