Tonina Manaus
Tonina Manaus is the trade name for a plant known in English-speaking countries as Tonina sp. Manaus. Modern research has shown that it belongs to a completely different genus that grows in water bodies in central Brazil, and is currently identified as Syngonanthus inundatus.
However, this plant is still better known by its old name in the market.
Tonina Manaus forms high erect stems, on which there are many narrow elongated leaves, whose number increases markedly towards the crown. Forms lateral shoots, but in an aquarium they develop slowly, so there is no rapid growth.
The content is very difficult even for experienced aquarists. This is largely due to the fact that the principles of growing plants of the genus Tonina (Tonina) are applied to it, but as it became known, this is a completely different species.
Aquarists offer several content options based on their experience, but as a rule, the data is not complete, so it is not possible to compile an exact list of requirements. Sooner or later, most of the sprouts die. Not recommended for beginners.
