The other day, at the age of 28, the legendary stud stallion fell Sandro Hit. Because of the infection, his condition worsened, and the owner decided to euthanize the horse.

Sandro Hit was born in 1993 in the stable of Reinhold Harder and was soon bought out by Paul Schockemühle.

In 1995, the Oldenburg stallion passed the licensing. However, only two years later, in 1997, he took part in a 100-day stallion performance test in Medingen. Sandro Hit scored 115,72 for dressage and 82,17 for jumping. In total – 99,80 points and 16th place out of 33.

In 1999 under saddle Ulf Müller the black stallion took part in the World Championship among young horses, held in Arnheim (Netherlands). Sandro Hit became champion among horses aged 6 years, demonstrating outstanding ability and launching the career of Ulf Müller.

The stallion’s sports career ended quickly – in January 2000, he took part in the stallion show for the last time. After that Sandro Hit was given for breeding.

Horse fast became popular with breeders due to its appearance and movements. And although his descendants for a long time failed to reach the level of the Grand Prix, his demand for breeding continued to grow. After the stallion began to cover elite mares, the horses received from Sandro Hit entered the arena and on the Big rides.

The stallion became the founder new line of dressage horses. About 191 sons of Sandro Hit are registered in the German Equestrian Federation, who have passed the licensing procedure, and 297 mares with the status of “state mare” (an encouraging title presented by the German lands to breeders with an obligation to use the mare in breeding and not to sell abroad).

The most famous licensed stallion sons are Sir Donnerhall, San Amour, Stedinger, Samarant, Blue Horse Soprano and San Remo.

Many descendants of Sandro Hit show outstanding results in sports. Showtime under the saddle Dorothy Schneider won team gold at the Tokyo Olympics, and Salvino under the saddle of Adrienne Lyle – team silver.

Several of the stallion’s grandchildren competed in the 2021 Olympics: Sir Donnerhall II (under the saddle of Morgan Barbanson), Sanceo (under the saddle of Sabine Shut-Carey), Sambuca (paired with Heike Holstein), Suppencasper (under the saddle of Steffen Peters) and others.

In 2017 and 2019, Sandro Hit was ranked second in the World Equine Association dressage ranking, in 2019 it was third.

The 2020 Bundesliga Championship in Werendorf featured a huge number of Sandro Hit descendants. The stallion was the grandfather of three finalists, aged five and six, and the father of two state mares.

According to entries for the 2021 Young Horse World Championships, the Sandro Hit line will once again be dominant this year.

Dorothy Schneider speaks positively about the descendants of the stallion: “I have several Sandro Hit horses in my line of work: Sammy Davis Jr., Showtime and Sent-Emilion. All these horses have a huge soul, and if you have found contact with them, then the work will be easy. Not only do they have natural momentum and good movements, but they are also energetic in their own right. These horses are flexible and flexible, and during the work they give themselves completely. ”Dorothy said.

In old age, the stallion was euthanized for humane reasons.

“I am very happy that I have descendants of Sandro Hit who will keep his outstanding data. It was hard for me to part with him, but, with a heavy heart, I let him go “Paul commented.

There are also outstanding representatives of the Sandro Hit line in Russia, who have achieved significant results under the guidance of our athletes. Sun of my life (from Sunny Boy) competed with Master of Sports Dressage Regina Isachkina in the Grand Prix, helped earn an Olympic license on the Tokyo Tour, and was one of the contenders for a spot on the Olympic team.

Sir Florett (from Spielberg) and Sofya Anishcheva showed consistently high results in Small Circle riding, were the winners of the Russian Individual Championship, and repeatedly won international and all-Russian dressage competitions. Not so long ago, the couple successfully started the Grand Prix. This summer in Nizhny Novgorod Sofia and Sir Florett won the Grand Prix with a score of 69,478% and earned gold in the Russian Dressage Team Championship. The stallion is the successor of the line and is successfully used in breeding.

Another representative of the Sandro Hit line, better known as a stud stallion, is Sandro Sailor (from St.Moriz), whose descendants are already successfully performing on the Russian arena.

I have a son, Sandro Hit, a stallion of the Sartors Heartbreaker Danish Knabstrupper breed. His kids are amazing. Movement, character, just gold. I do not regret a single gram that eleven years ago I bought it in Europe and brought it to Russia. It’s only a shame that a ridiculous injury put an end to his sports career, but this does not in the least prevent him from being just his favorite horse and a good producer. Answer
