“Sit”, “down” and “stand” are the basic commands that every dog ​​should know. They are needed not to brag to friends about their unmistakable performance, but for the comfort and safety of both the dog itself and everyone around. You can teach your pet to them starting from 3 months of age. The older the dog gets, the more difficult the training can be.

The basic commands “sit”, “lie down” and “stand” are best practiced at home in a calm environment where there are no distractions. After the commands are more or less learned, training can be continued on the street.

3 months is a great age to start learning the “Sit” command.

To practice this command, your puppy should already know his nickname and understand the command “to me.” You will need a collar, a short leash and training treats.

– Raise the treat above the dog’s head and move it back a little.

– when the puppy sits, say “okay”, pet him and treat him with a treat.

In order not to overwork the puppy, repeat the exercise 2-3 times, and then take a short break.

The training of the “down” command is started after the puppy has mastered the “sit” command.

– Stand in front of the puppy

– in your right hand, bring a treat to the puppy’s muzzle and lower it down and forward to the puppy

– following him, the dog will bend down and lie down

– as soon as she lies down, command “good” and reward with a treat

– if the puppy tries to rise, hold him down by pressing on the withers with your left hand.
