Rotala macrandra “Green”

Rotala macrandra “Green”, the English trade name Rotala macrandra “Green”. The plant is a breeding form of Rotala macrandra. It is considered a very variable variety, the appearance of which directly depends on the growth conditions.

In an aquarium under moderate lighting, the plant forms elongated light green leaves and a reddish stem. The edge of the leaf blade is slightly serrated, the tip is oblique. In bright light, the leaves take on a reddish hue. New shoots can develop rounded leaf blades with smooth edges.

Able to grow in air on moist substrates. In this position, the stem retains its red color, and the leaves are visibly quenched.

Content comes with some challenges. Rotala macrandra “Green” should not be shaded, which leads to wilting of the leaves. Overgrown bushes must be thinned out so that even the lower leaves receive enough light. It is recommended to place under a light source. Another important nutrient substrate is a good choice would be a special aquarium soil, rich in all the necessary trace elements.
