The habitat of the red-headed (plum-headed) ringed parrot and life in nature

The red-headed (plum-headed) ringed parrot lives on the island of Sri Lanka, in Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, India and southern China. In addition, there are small populations of departed pets in the United States (Florida and New York). In their natural range they live in dense and sparse forests, parks and gardens.

This is a flocking and noisy species of parrots. The flight is fast and agile. Red-headed (plum-headed) annelids eat a variety of seeds, fruits, fleshy flower petals, and sometimes visit farmland with sorghum and corn. They can stray in flocks with other types of ringed parrots. Males are quite territorial and defend their habitat from other males.
