Ownership

One day, an object terribly attractive to my dog-owning soul was found on the shelf of a pet store. The ball is poisonous green, with a painted face that can only be dreamed of in nightmares. But the main thing – he squeaked, loudly, sharply and piercingly. In short, it’s rare. However, dog owners and dogs are a special category of consumers. And I realized that Ellie and I were gone.

Ellie now has OH, Lawful and Indivisible Property. She does not play with him (how can one play with a saint?). She takes care of him and enjoys possession. When I say: Ellie, where is your Property? Ellie immediately starts looking. She learned the word “Property” very quickly, almost in one go. Property can be hidden in another room, put under a pillow, put on a chest of drawers – it will certainly be found and reunited with its rightful owner. After that, Ellie wears Property in her teeth for a long time, sometimes squeaking it, then, when she gets tired of carrying the treasure in her mouth, she lies down on the floor, puts it between her front paws and admires, wagging her tail and demanding that everyone who comes into her field of vision share delight. True, not everyone shares the delight. My mother, for example, does not share and generally does not like Property. The reason for this is the unfortunate case when Ellie, through an oversight, left the Property on her mother’s bed, and she (mother, not the bed), without looking, landed on Elly’s treasure. She almost fainted, imagining that a desperate scream from under her testified that she had inadvertently crushed everyone’s favorite dog. But the main thing was that Ellie was pleased.
