Oranda

Oranda (Oranda Goldfish – English) beautiful original fish. A characteristic feature is the presence on the head of a large growth similar to a cap, which differs in color from the main color of the fish. It begins to appear already on the 3-4th month of the life of the fish, but is fully formed after two years.

The body is short, dense, rounded/ovoid in shape. The fins are long, loose, have a distinct bifurcation. There are several color variations: red, black, silver, chocolate, blue – a new shade that has recently appeared on the market. The color may contain a combination of red with other shades, a striking example is one of the varieties of Oranda – Little Red Riding Hood. It is completely white, and the growth is a bright cherry color.

The fish has a lot of fans all over the world, but special attention is paid in China and Japan, where they are respectfully called “Water Flower”. At present, there are no problems with its acquisition, however, the content requires certain skills, so Oranda is not recommended for beginner aquarists. It is less tolerant of temperature fluctuations and places high demands on the quality and purity of water. The “cap”/growth is sensitive to various kinds of contaminants that settle in tiny folds and provoke infections and infections.
