Nesey red

Nesey red, scientific name Ammannia praetermissa. For a long time it was known as Nesaea crassicaulis, but since 2013 it has been assigned to the genus Ammanius. old name still is actively used, since it is not possible to rename this species to Ammania Krasnaya, this name has already been occupied by another representative of the genus.

It is a cultivated plant grown in special nurseries, it is not found in the wild. There is no reliable information about the origin, but it is believed that the ancestors of this species come from West Africa. Neseya red grows up to 15 cm in height, has a strong stem, from which slightly curved red lanceolate leaves from 4 to 9 cm in length extend. In amateur aquarism, it is practically not found in view of the high requirements for maintenance. Mainly used in professional aquascaping, show aquariums etc.
