moss flame
Flame moss, trade English name Taxiphyllum “Flame Moss”. It went on sale in the early 2010s. The species affiliation has not been determined. It probably comes from East and Southeast Asia, where it grows along the banks of water bodies in a partially or completely flooded state.
Moss got its name due to the peculiarity of its growth. Dense vertically oriented spiral shoots give the impression of a miniature “green fire” about 5-15 cm high. Due to its shape, it looks most impressive when fixed on horizontal surfaces, such as stones, driftwood.
Like all species of the genus Taxiphyllum Moss flame is easy to maintain. It is successfully used both in aquariums and paludariums. Not picky about the level of lighting and hydrochemical values of water. Instead of soil, it is recommended to place design elements on hard rough surfaces.
