Gastromyzon ctenocephalus

Gastromyzon ctenocephalus, scientific name Gastromyzon ctenocephalus, belongs to the family Balitoridae (River loaches). Endemic to the island of Borneo (Kalimantan). It is found only in a limited section of the Sungai River, which flows through northwestern tip of the island in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.

Gastromyzon ctenocephalus

The fish are small in size. Adult sizes reach a length of only up to 4-x cm. It differs from relatives in black or dark gray color with evenly spaced light dots. There are white or bluish strokes on the tail and fins.
