Corgi food

In between feedings, does your corgi show miracles of balancing act, doing a stand on short hind legs? Be persistent, because the shortbread is the most talented artist among dogs.

corgi diseases

With health and immunity, these dogs, frankly, are lucky. If you properly care for the animal, do not overfeed and visit the veterinarian on time, the pet will live happily ever after.

But this breed also has weaknesses. Among them:

  • intervertebral discs.

Due to the specific structure – a massive body and short legs – Corgis risk injuring their backs. Intervertebral disc problems are quite common.

  • Joints.

For the same reason – because of the peculiarities of their appearance – “Chorts” are prone to problems with the joints of the paws. In addition, representatives of the breed often suffer from hip dysplasia – this is a congenital disease, so the condition of the joints requires careful attention not only in adult dogs, but even in puppies.

  • Overweight.

If the owner often shows weakness and cannot resist a charming beggar, the dog runs the risk of becoming an overfed, inactive and sick animal.

What to feed corgis

The diet should be balanced and contain no fatty foods. It is very difficult to calculate the ratio of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and microelements on your own, so you need to choose premium dry food.

When choosing food, you need to take into account the characteristics of the pet and the advice of specialists. Near the bowl of food must be clean water.

Corgis are dogs with an excellent appetite, and in order to avoid health problems, you should feed your pet strictly on time and in moderate portions, an adult dog – no more than twice a day.
