Ammania graceful
Ammania graceful, scientific name Ammannia gracilis. It comes from a swampy area in West Africa. The first specimens of plants for aquaristics were brought to Europe from Liberia, even the name of this aquarist is known –
It is worth noting that despite its unpretentiousness to the growing environment, Ammania elegant demonstrates its best colors under quite certain conditions. It is recommended to install bright lighting and additionally introduce carbon dioxide in an amount of about 25–30 mg/l. The water is soft and slightly acidic. The level of iron in the soil is kept high while phosphate and nitrate are kept low. Under these conditions, the plant on the stem forms long outstretched leaves, painted in rich red hues. If the conditions are not suitable, the color becomes the usual green. It grows up to 60 cm, so in small aquariums it will reach the surface.
