Alternantera is sessile

Sessile Alternantera, scientific name Alternanthera sessilis, is widespread in the tropical and subtropical zone of Eurasia, as well as in Central and South America. Bred in the southern states of the USA. It is a herbaceous stem plant with a stem and leaves extending from it. The leaves are oval, ovate or elongated linear-lanceolate, coloring from pinkish-green to rich purple and dark green. The brightness of colors depends on the level of illumination. The plant takes root in the ground, although the root system is poorly developed.

Not a fully aquatic plant, it can successfully grow in wet greenhouses, in semi-flooded soil at the water’s edge. Perfect for aquariums where there is an artificial hill that forms a piece of land, an island. On this peculiar coastline, you can plant an Alternantera sitting. Unpretentious in content, able to adapt to various conditions, however, soft, slightly acidic warm water is optimal. The brighter the light, the richer the color of the leaves.
