Experts explain that in the first place, the activity of a pet can be triggered by a sharp feeling of hunger. So the animal attracts attention to itself, because it cannot find food on its own. Along with hunger, a cat can signal an acute desire to drink water. 

Animals that have become attached to a person can beg for communication with their beloved owner. A short play may solve the problem.

If the owners have recently moved, then running around with loud screams a consequence of the cat getting used to a new place of residence. So the pet shows anxiety. 

The cat thus can ask for help. According to the expert, this primarily concerns young animals that succumb to difficulties and hope for help. 

Loud meowing and moving from room to room may indicate the approach of some kind of threat. Cats are very sensitive, so they sense danger from a distance.

It is possible, the expert notes, that restless behavior attempt to manipulate the owner. For example, this way an animal can beg for a forbidden treat.

The list of possible causes also includes a strong desire for a cat to go for a walk, fright from a sharp and loud sound, estrus, approaching childbirth, or a manifestation of the hunting instinct. 

At the same time, special attention, according to experts, must be paid to the health of the pet. Restless behavior may indicate severe pain: for example, in the presence of stones in the genitourinary system.
