white pecilia
White platy, English trade name White Platy. It is a decorative variety of the common Pecilia, in which the genes responsible for the manifestation of color pigments were suppressed during selection. The result was the complete absence on the body of any colors other than white. As a rule, through the outer covers, devoid of color, you can see the internal organs, translucent scarlet gills and the skeleton of the fish.
Such a variety is very rare, since such a body color (more precisely, its absence), with rare exceptions, is not transmitted to the next generation. Among the numerous offspring from one pair of White Pecilia, there may be only a few fry that have adopted the color of their parents.
In most cases, under this name, other varieties are supplied, with a predominant white color, but with the presence of other colors in the color.

Maintenance and care
It is distinguished by unpretentiousness and endurance, so it will be a good choice for a novice aquarist. The fish can forgive him some mistakes and omissions in keeping, for example, untimely cleaning of the aquarium and, as a result, the accumulation of organic waste (food leftovers, excrement).
The minimum set of requirements for 3-4 fish includes an aquarium of 50-60 liters, thickets of plants or other design elements that can serve as shelters, high-quality food with herbal supplements and peaceful neighbors of a comparable size.
The main water parameters (pH / GH) are not significant. However, it is noted that the fish feel better in slightly alkaline hard water. Able to live for a long time at a low salt concentration of about 5-10 grams per liter.
behavior and compatibility. Other viviparous species, such as Guppies, Swordtails, Mollies, as well as fish that live in a slightly alkaline environment, will become excellent neighbors in the aquarium.
Breeding / reproduction. In a suitable habitat, the White Pecilia will produce offspring every 1-2 months. From the first hours of life, the fry are ready to take food, which can be crushed dry flakes or special food intended for juvenile aquarium fish. There is a threat of predation from adult fish, so it is recommended that fry be transplanted into a separate tank.
