What sounds do cats dislike?

First, let’s remember the physiology: the cat’s ear is much more sensitive than the human one, because cats can perceive sounds up to 60 Hz, while humans only 20 Hz. Cat ears can rotate 000 degrees independently of each other, because of this, cats can easily find where a particular sound comes from.

All this indicates that there are much more sounds that annoy a cat than those that annoy a person. What are these sounds?

  1. Hissing. You have probably noticed that when cats are angry or afraid of something, they hiss. For them hissing sounds negative. Therefore, if you hiss at your pet, he will not like it.

  2. Harsh, unexpected sounds. Cats get used to the sounds around them and no longer pay any attention to them. But any new and sharp sound frightens them. You can use this to your advantage if, say, you want to wean your pet from some unwanted behavior (for example, walking on a table). As soon as you see that the cat is doing something that you do not like, clap your hands loudly or make any other sharp and unexpected sound. Believe me, cats quickly understand that unpleasant sounds are associated with their incorrect behavior, and they will not do it again.

  3. Loud sounds. Cats’ delicate hearing is not designed for loud music or loud movies. Cats don’t like fireworks, thunder, or any other loud noise that you might not think it is.

  4. high frequency sounds. These are the sounds that people usually do not notice at all. And cats are annoying. Our appliances often make these sounds, so don’t be surprised if your pet runs out of the room when you turn on any of the appliances. So it’s the sound that she doesn’t like.

We hope that now that you have learned all this, you will try to minimize the sounds that cats do not like in your home so that your pet does not suffer from them.
