Pouch, lamister, tetra pack – what is it? Let’s try to figure out what wet food and canned food for cats and dogs are most often packaged in.

Tetra Pak

Tetra Pak is a box consisting of several layers of cardboard, polyethylene and foil. Tetra Pak is the name of the Swedish-Swiss corporation Tetra Pak, which has been manufacturing this type of packaging and equipment since 1951. For example, Bozita canned cat food is packaged in Tetra Pak.

Tin

A metal can made of tin or aluminum, most often has a key to open it on the lid, but it can also be without a key. They can be both small – 70 grams each, and large – more than 2 kg. Cans contain wet food Gemon, Brit, Gourmet, Monge, Animonda, Wellness Core, BioMenu, diet food Royal Canin, Hill’s and Pro Plan, etc.

Lamister is a tray (container) made of aluminum foil, laminated with polypropylene on the inside and lacquered on the outside. From above, the trays are sealed with a foil lid or film, and can be easily opened manually. Usually the content of the lamister does not exceed 460 g. They are most often packed with food in the form of pates and soufflés. Lamisters include Monge, Gemon, Organix, Wellness Core, Dog Lunch.           

Spider

A pouch is a small soft package made of foil and polyethylene, which has notches in the upper part for easy opening. The name “pouch” – from the English. “Pouch” – a bag. Wet food Pro Plan, Purina One, Felix, Gourmet, Hill’s, Royal Canin, Monge, Almo Nature, Mnyams, Brit, etc. are packed in spiders. Canned food after opening must be stored in the refrigerator, and the food should be used for food within a day, maximum two. Closed packages can be stored at temperatures from 0 to +25 °C.
