Three main principles of dog training

When the hero of one of our blogs, a puppy of a white Swiss shepherd Ocean, looked at us “at the light”, by a lucky chance, our consultant, obedience trainer and behavior correction instructor Tatyana Romanova also turned out to be our guest. She gave the recipe three main principles of dog training. 

Tatyana once again showed herself as a specialist of the highest class: in 5 minutes she carried out diagnostics and gave out a “recipe” for education. However, the rules that she told us about will suit absolutely all pets.

1. Unwanted behavior is ignored. 

If you pay attention to it, the dog gets reinforcement. “Oh, I barked, and they shush me and grab my face? So much attention! Excellent! I will continue to do so!” 

2. Desirable behavior is necessarily encouraged.

How often do we pay attention to a dog when it is behaving well, such as lying quietly in its place? Not? And it’s worth it! Praise your four-legged friend, treat. This will show you exactly what behavior you are buying. “Yeah,” your pet will think, “I lie silently and they treat me for this? And when I whine, do not pay attention? So, it’s better to lie down and get affection and cookies for it. ”   

3. Do not provoke the dog to make a mistake.  

Of course, if a pet sees a cake, sooner or later he will try to get to it. Because it’s unfair, after all, that it smells so seductive here, and not get there! “Should I put my front paws on the table?” – your furry friend thinks – and puts his “insidious plans” into practice! And it’s worth encouraging just when he may have thought about “harmfulness”, but he still stands on the floor with all four legs. And something to distract from the “vicious” thoughts.  Tatyana’s upbringing method was appreciated by everyone who was in the office. In front of our eyes, Ocean from an excited and hooligan puppy (and he is still only 3 months old) has turned into a wise and calm dog. A side effect – he fell in love with Tatyana Romanova and did not want to part with her 🙂
