The story of a photographer who captures the last days of elderly animals

The photographer under the pseudonym Unleashed Fur prefers not to advertise his real name, but he willingly shares his wonderful and slightly sad story. In it, he talks about how it happened that he photographed dogs that go to the rainbow after a very short time after shooting.

фото:Unleashed Fur/pet photography “I have been taking photographs for about 15 years, even more if you count the days when I still used a film camera. I had 3 chihuahuas, two of which I lost in 2015 due to old age and illness with a difference of 3 days. This loss left a deep mark and was a catalyst for future actions.

I decided that since I have been photographing animals for a long time, I could provide my photography services to other people and their animals for free. Thus began my journey as an aged animal photographer as part of the “Give kindness to another” project. I photographed the last day of the life of many pets.

Recently I changed the direction of my art a little, but still I still do portraits of animals in old age. This is the work that matters the most to me.

I recently adopted a second aged Chihuahua from a shelter to accompany my remaining single dog. My new pet boasts probably only three teeth and a heart murmur.

We had a cardiologist appointment just the other day, he takes special medications, but he remains active and very sweet at the same time. Of course, I have already photographed him, and he behaves wonderfully in front of the camera!

Here are some photos of elderly pets, most of which have already gone to the rainbow, but continue to live in these photos.
