The basics of ring training

Each handler and owner keeps their own secrets of ring training “in the stash”. And over time, you will accumulate your “know-how”. However, everyone starts somewhere.Ring training starts the day your puppy enters your home. As a rule, this happens when the baby turns 2 – 2,5 months old. Ring training is carried out in parallel with the general training course, games and establishing contact between the owner and the pet. First of all, you need to decide which words you will use as commands. For example, the commands might be:

  • “Work!” This is the signal to start ring training.
  • “Teeth!” A command that anticipates the display of teeth.
  • “Boxing ring!” On this command, the dog assumes an exhibition stance. It is best for the dog to distinguish this command from the “Stand” command, which means to stop while moving or to get up from a lying or sitting position.
  • “Lynx!” This is a signal to run in a sweeping uniform trot at a speed characteristic of the breed.
