Telescope
The telescope (Telescope Goldfish – English) is curious primarily with its own eyes. They protrude on the sides of the head for a considerable distance on cone-shaped stems, and young individuals are unremarkable, the eyes begin to protrude only at the 6th month of life and are fully formed already in adulthood. In some collectibles, the eyes may protrude by 2 cm! Otherwise, the Telescope is a typical representative of the breeding Goldfish with a short, rounded body and a large head. The caudal fin is moderately long and slightly forked. The coloring is the most diverse: red, chocolate, white, even blue, as well as combined colors, when there are many blotches of other colors and shades on the body. One of the most famous color variations is the Black Telescope.
The fish was first bred in China back in the 18th century, and later the experience was adopted in neighboring Japan. For its amazing appearance, it was called the Dragon’s Eye or Dragon Fish, in the country of the Rising Sun, another name has been fixed, which is still popular today – Demekin. The telescope is popular not only in Asia, but also in Europe. Due to its unpretentiousness and endurance, it is able to adapt to almost any aquarium. However, the structure of the eyes imposes restrictions on the design of the reservoir, it should not contain objects with sharp or jagged edges that can cause injury. Also, a potential danger may come from active mobile neighbors, therefore, either representatives of the same species or close relatives, such as Water Eyes, Astrologer and others, should be placed together.
