Taurine for ferrets

Taurine (or, as it is also called, sulfur-containing amino acid) is a sulfonic acid formed in the body from the amino acid cysteine. It is involved in the proper functioning of the liver and the regulation of cell volume and is present in the tissues and bile of animals and humans. Typically, taurine is used as a dietary supplement, drug, and is often found in pet food.
