talking parrots

The parrot is the most interesting bird of all that a person has long kept at home. Why is he so attractive? In addition to its beautiful beautiful plumage, which can play with the brightest colors, this, of course, is the ability of a parrot to speak. Not a single person will be left indifferent by a bird that can talk to him in his own language. Of course, these can be just single words, but there are individuals who learn up to 200-300 words, and, most importantly, are able to apply them in the appropriate situation. It cannot fail to attract.

What parrots are talking?

Of course, just as parrots differ in appearance, so they differ in the degree of talkativeness. Someone can chat incessantly as soon as you open the apartment door, and someone will not utter a word until you address him in the way he thinks he deserves. Someone has a loud, sharp voice, while someone is very quiet and calm. Consider the species that, thanks to numerous studies and observations, are considered the most talkative.

Jaco or Gray parrot

They are considered the most gifted parrots, for which they have earned the love of most bird lovers. These birds are able to remember about several hundred words and even phrases. There is even evidence of completely unique individuals who knew approximately 2000 words. However, such results can be achieved only with the correct upbringing of the bird. Even such an intelligent parrot can turn into a stupid loud-mouthed screamer with a powerful beak if a person does not make faithful and patient efforts in this regard.

Jaco’s character is very calm, even meek. They perfectly imitate not only human speech, but also a lot of other very diverse sounds. These parrots are tamed only from the chick age, and it is also necessary to start teaching them how to talk during this period. If a Jaco came to a person from his usual habitat (nature) in adulthood, then he will be very shy and it will be very difficult to teach him something. At the same time, if a bird constantly experiences fear, then it means that it lives in non-passing stress. From here, a number of diseases can arise, which often lead even to death.

To get the best results, it is better to keep a Jaco alone so that the need for communication is met only by you and only in “human language”. Jaco’s cage should be large: wide and high, so that he can spread his large wings without complications. Avoid drafts, changes of scenery and tobacco smoke.

The diet of the Jaco should be very varied. The basis, of course, is grain mixtures (both dry and germinated). Be sure to add nuts, fruits, vegetables to the diet. With pleasure they eat berries: mountain ash, bird cherry, cherry, blueberry. In the greens of lettuce, radish, dandelion, as well as branches of linden, willow, oak, there are many substances that are useful for Jaco. Do not forget about mineral supplements: clay, burnt coal, sand, eggshells, chalk.

Amazons

Amazons are second only to Jaco in the list of active talkers. They remember 50-60 words, and also perfectly imitate other sounds. The most interesting thing is that they are very active in self-learning: they constantly quietly mumble something under their breath, and then they give you a completely new word that you did not teach him. Species of particular note among Amazons include: • Surinamese Amazon • Blue-fronted Red-shouldered Amazon • Blue-fronted Yellow-shouldered Amazon • Yellow-necked Amazon • Venezuelan Amazon • Panamanian Amazon • Large Yellow-headed Amazon • Blue-bearded Amazon • Cuban Amazon

Cockatoo

This is one of the most popular birds among bird lovers. These birds can learn about a few dozen words. At the same time, the imitation of other sounds is not worse for them. They like to sing songs in which the words can be quite clearly distinguished. They speak very loudly. The period of their conversational activity occurs most often in the early morning or late evening. Very attached to the person. With all their behavior, funny poses and bows, they will always try to grab your attention.

These parrots are one of the most common. Breeders have bred more than 200 of the most diverse species. They differ in color (all the colors of the rainbow) and even in size (species have been bred that are twice the size of their relatives from the wild).

Wavy dogs are perfectly trainable and, with a skillful and correct approach, are able to learn up to several dozen words. It is necessary to start learning from infancy, then the result will be positive in 90%. However, in history there are cases when adult parrots began to speak. If we consider learning to speak from the angle of sexual characteristics, then males learn faster, but females pronounce words more clearly and clearly in the future.

Macaw – imitates sounds

Ara is more capable not of human speech, but of copying sounds: a phone ringing, a cat meowing, coughing, door creaking, etc. Macaws are very fond of imitating human conversation, but the fact is that macaws have problems directly with diction. However, with patient study, you can achieve 5-10 words. He will pronounce them clearly, distinctly and with a special intonation.

If you really decide to get a talking parrot (or a talking parrot chick), then great attention should be paid to the choice of a bird in a nursery (or store). The most trainable in the future will be a bird that sits quietly on a perch or branch and watches everything that happens with great interest. Such a parrot will become an interesting companion and friend for you in the future.
