Staurogyne short
Staurogyne stunted, scientific name Staurogyne sp. “Low Grow”. In aquarism, the colloquial name of this plant, formed from the Russian-language transcription of the Latin name – Staurogyn Grow Low, is more popular.
Presumably a natural variety of Staurogyne repens. Externally, both plants are almost identical. When under water, they form low sprouts that grow densely along the creeping stem, but Staurogyne dwarf has larger leaves up to 10 cm long.
In aquariums, it is recommended to place it on some surface, for example, fixing it on snags or rough stones. The root system is not well adapted to rooting in soft soil, so a gravel substrate can be used as an alternative.
The optimal environment for healthy growth is considered to be soft, slightly acidic water rich in nutrients with a high concentration of carbon dioxide during the daytime under bright light.
The design is well suited for creating accents in the foreground, as well as decorating large rocks, snags. Great for pruning.
