Maintenance and care
It is acceptable to keep both in a separate and in a common aquarium, but on condition that there are no large predatory or aggressive fish species in it that can eat such miniature shrimp (adults reach no more than 3.5 cm). Red Ruby is easy to maintain, does not require special water parameters, and performs well in a wide range of pH and dGH values. However, successful spawning occurs in soft, slightly acidic water. In the design, groups of plants and shelters in the form of snags, caves, grottoes are desirable.
They are omnivorous, accept almost any food intended for aquarium fish (flakes, granules, frozen meat products). They are often used not only for decoration, but as aquarium orderlies, absorbing food debris and other organic matter. To prevent damage to ornamental plants, chopped pieces of homemade vegetables and fruits (carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, apples, pears, etc.) are added.
