How to prevent stress in a parrot

Well tamed, adult parrots have already adapted to family life and rarely suffer from stress. However, in any case, you should follow the rules of communication with your pet. First of all, explain to households (especially children) that sudden movements, noise and fuss are unacceptable near the parrot, you can’t grab the bird abruptly – all this can cause stress in the parrot. Carefully monitor the behavior of the feathered friend, note how he reacts to certain stimuli and eliminate everything that badly affects his mood and well-being. If the parrot does not get along with the neighbors, it is better to seat them in different cages. In general, you should not keep many birds in one cage. If the bird is used to loneliness and feels good, you should not add neighbors to it or move it to the company. Be careful during nesting and raising offspring, do not frighten the female. Even cleaning the cage during this period should be done as carefully as possible and only in case of emergency.

Avoid sudden dietary changes. If you do this, then innovate gradually and carefully monitor the reaction of the bird.

Make sure that the parrot has food and fresh water. When purchasing new equipment, choose one that will be similar to the old one in size, color and shape. It is better to put new things in the cage one at a time, while removing the old ones after a couple of days. Changes are sometimes necessary, but they should occur gradually and smoothly.
