Nano moss, scientific name Amblystegium serpens. Found ubiquitously throughout the Northern Hemisphere, also found in South America, Australia, and New Zealand. It grows only on land, prefers shaded places with high humidity rich in nutrients. Often grows on the bark at the base of trees, shrubs, on dead wood, stones.
Nano moss forms dense clusters, creeping along the surface. On the filamentous processes are a kind of “leaves” (mosses do not have them) no more than a millimeter in length. They have a lamellar pointed shape. They are used in paludariums in the surface state, however, they are able to adapt to the conditions of the aquarium. When immersed in water, it forms many thin vertical shoots, instead of creeping ones, which form small bushes. They can be given neat rounded shapes, which is appreciated in aquascaping.
