Mosses of the genus Vesicularia
Types of Aquarium Plants

Mosses of the genus Vesicularia

Mosses of the genus Vesicularia, scientific name Vesicularia genus, belong to the Hypnaceae family. They have become popular among professionals working in the style of the Nature Aquarium due to a successful combination of several qualities: unpretentiousness, beautiful appearance, the ability to place on natural decor elements (stones, driftwood, etc.).

Most of the species shown are from Asia. In nature, they grow in moist, poorly lit places near water, in flooded areas along the banks of forest streams and rivers.

They are equally successfully used both in the design of paludariums and aquariums.

Outwardly, mosses are in many ways similar to each other, which creates some confusion. Often a situation arises when one species is supplied under the name of another. However, such errors are not significant for the average aquarist, since they do not affect the features of keeping (growing).
