Lileopsis Maclovian
Lileopsis Maclovian, scientific name Lilaeopsis macloviana. It comes from the equatorial and subequatorial belts of South America. It grows in swamps, along the banks of rivers and streams, as well as in estuaries and brackish bays. The first cultivated plants were brought to Europe from Ecuador for botanical gardens and soon ended up in aquariums.
This plant can grow both underwater and in humid environments, such as paludariums, where it can produce small white flowers. Reaches up to 50 cm in height, does not have a stem, the leaves grow from a rhizome located horizontally in a layer of soil, from which, in turn, roots extend. The leaves are narrow
Given the wide range of growth of Lileopsis Maclovian, it is quite natural that it can be classified as one of the unpretentious and hardy plants that can successfully adapt to various conditions. Special attention should be paid to the substrate – it is desirable to use sandy soil.
