Launching Fish into the Aquarium: 5 Steps
Step 1. You can be congratulated! You have purchased your first aquarium fish and most likely delivered them home in special shipping bags. We hope your journey to the house did not last long and the fish did not suffer from a lack of oxygen. When you get home, don’t hesitate to start. Fish should not be kept in bags for a long time.
The longer the road to the house – the more air should be in the bag with the fish.
Step 2. Let’s move on to launching the fish. To begin with, we place a closed bag with a fish on the surface of the water in the aquarium and leave it in this position for 15 or more minutes, depending on the temperature of the water in the bag. What for? This is how we help the fish adapt to the new temperature and avoid shock. Once the aquarium water and the water from the bag have reached the same temperature, you can proceed to the next step.
Step 3. The temperature has already been adjusted. The next step is to adapt the fish to the parameters of the aquarium water. To do this, carefully open the bag and add some water from the aquarium to it. We leave for a few minutes.
Step 4. We continue to adapt. Pour some more aquarium water into the bag, leave for a few minutes, and then repeat the action. Slowly fill the bag completely so that it sinks.
Step 5. We give the fish the opportunity to independently move from the bag to the aquarium. We take out an empty package – and you’re done! Fish at home!
As you can see, nothing complicated. But every step is very important for the health and life of the fish. Unfortunately, many cases are known when, with a sharp start, the fish died from shock. We hope you never experience this!
We wish the fishes like their new home and your little aqua world will bring you a lot of joy!
