Types of sleeping places

Cat sleeping places are different: plush houses, baskets or even hammocks. The choice of the desired type depends on the preferences of the pet. However, most often, cats prefer places that are round in shape, following the contours of the cat’s body. Closed houses are also very popular among four-legged pets, in which you can hide from the outside world.

dimensions

When choosing the right type of bed, you need to consider the size of the pet and the apartment. A home-made cat bed has its plus, and it lies in the fact that the owner’s imagination is not limited by anything: you can come up with your own design and fit the bed into the interior as conveniently and beautifully as possible.

Material

When thinking over a sleeping place for a pet, the owner should pay special attention to the material from which it is planned to make a bed. You should think about how it will be more convenient to clean your pet’s sleeping place: wash it or wipe it with a damp cloth. It is also worth remembering about color: light shades quickly lose their original appearance.

Chaise longue with sides

This is the simplest type of bed. It will require a synthetic winterizer and only four parts:

  • two identical rectangular pieces of fabric for the sides (their length should be equal to the circumference of the bottom);
  • two round or oval pieces for the bottom.

It is necessary to sew the same parts around the perimeter, leaving a small opening for stuffing, turn the seams inside out, stuff with padding polyester and sew up. Then it is necessary to sew the resulting side along the edges of the bottom and sew its two ends together. The bed is ready!

Couch from old things

You can give a new life, for example, to an old fiber suitcase (with hard walls and latches). Simply open it, put it against the wall and fill it with soft things or old clothes. If desired, you can screw the legs to it.

A wicker basket can also be suitable for these purposes, just put something soft in it. If the basket has a handle, you can attach fabric to it to make something like a canopy. And a basket, which has a bottom of the same diameter as the circumference of the edges, can be attached with the bottom to the wall so that the cat can jump inside. There you need to put a folded blanket, for example, or a sweater.

Functional bed

If you are friends with carpentry and have already dealt with the design of furniture, you can make a pet bed not only comfortable, but also functional. So, a good option is to make a bedside table with a house built inside.

Cache-pot for a cat

One of the simplest and at the same time original options for a cat bed is a hanging metal planter with coconut fiber.

Hammock

Now hammocks for cats are gaining popularity. A hammock is easy to make yourself. For this you will need:

  • a rectangular piece of fabric;
  • four pieces of textile belt (can be cut off from an old backpack);
  • four metal carabiners.

Everything is very simple: you need to sew the straps on the corners of the fabric, sew them on a sewing machine, making loops, and attach carabiners to them. You can hang such a hammock, for example, on a chair with crossbars between the legs.
