How does a cat who cannot see live?

Our cat’s name is Mickey. He is approximately 9 months old. The children found him on the road on October 17 and left him on the landing. A friend called me and asked for help. Sent photos: the animal was in a terrible state. I realized that I needed help urgently. So Mickey became my ward. The cat was immediately placed on overexposure. And in December I took him to me.

Your cat is special. How does the lack of vision affect his life?

He is very different from other cats even in character. Initially, you really feel sorry for this tiny creature because of your blindness. But then you realize that the cat lives a completely fulfilling life, and the feeling of pity recedes. Mickey jumps wherever he wants, picks up the dog, ruins the furniture more abruptly than any cat.

Lack of vision compensated by other senses?

When I got it, I was worried about many questions: where to put the tray, how does it slide off the sofa, and how does it jump? I had a panic. And Mickey, meanwhile, quickly got used to it. Then he began to climb the tree.

What are the cat’s habits?

Miki is very fond of stealing pancakes and pancakes. He listens to what he is told, but likes to do it out of spite. He loves water very much: swimming, sitting in the bath, sticking his head under the tap. Sometimes he sleeps in the sink. He also has dog habits. Mickey has his own house, but he sleeps in a dog house. Plays with dog toys and steals them.

How do your dog and cat get along with each other?

When we brought the cat, my dog, of course, was in shock. She is very jealous. Now she is trying to bypass the cat: Mickey is pestering her. There are, of course, cute moments when they sleep together, they can lick, but Mickey, as a rule, bullies her.

Has your life changed with the advent of a cat? And has that influenced what you do now?

The outlook on life has definitely changed. Other cats began to like it. I want to save such unusual ones.

At the moment I supervise 2 “natural disasters”, I help the elderly. Constantly about 20 wards. It all started with the fact that I just fed the cats, and then I realized that I need to do more. And now I have 20 wards.

Tell us about how you found a clone of Mickey in America?

I follow several blind cats on instagram. I also set up an account for myself. It was more for moral support. And then Instagram began to offer publications, and I stumbled upon that cat. At first I thought that someone copied the photos and this is our cat: even the interior was similar! But, if you look closely, you can see that that cat has a different facial expression, he is a little older. This is how it happens too.
