Helanthium tender small
Helanthium tender small, scientific name Helanthium tenellum “parvulum”. It was formerly known in the aquarium trade as one of the varieties of Echinodorus tenderus (now Helanthium tender), until the plant was separated into its own genus Helanthium.
Probably, the refinement of the classification will not end there. The plant is native to the tropical latitudes of North America, while other Helanthiums come from South America. Many scientists tend to read that it is not a variety of Helanthium tender and offer to transfer it into an independent species with the scientific name Helanthium parvulum.
Under water, this herbaceous plant forms small sprouts-bushes, consisting of narrow long leaves of a linear shape of light green color. In the surface position, the shape of the leaves changes to lanceolate. Even in favorable conditions, it will not grow above 5 cm. For normal growth, it is necessary to provide warm soft water, high levels of lighting and nutritious soil. Reproduction occurs due to the formation of lateral shoots, so it is recommended to plant the sprouts of a new plant at some distance from each other.
