Basically, they are all caught from their natural habitat and transported here. Such fish will not eat dry food, it needs live or frozen food, or even only live food. Then you will have to buy insects to feed your pet. Therefore, if you want to get an interesting, exotic fish, you first need to understand what it eats and whether you can create a food base for it. 

 The second question is whether the fish will eat at a time when it is used to doing so in nature. Because some fish are used to eating only at dawn, and at other times they refuse to eat. And she will swim for 2 – 3 months and die simply from exhaustion if you cannot feed her at the right time. Because, for example, in the tropics where she lives, it rains at this time, the water indicators have changed, and the fish is looking for food. And if we cannot create such conditions, the pet will die. 

 If you dream of a long snake-shaped fish, keep in mind that most of them are nocturnal predators or scavengers. That is, it’s normal for them to spend the whole day, just burrowing into the ground or into stones and getting out only at night, so you won’t see it at all. There are snakehead fish: they are interesting, beautiful, but they eat only live food. They swim in the water column, but no other creature in the aquarium can live, because they are so aggressive that they kill all living things. Moreover, one snakehead can kill another if they are in a limited space. Those. you will have one such fish, and you will have to feed it with tweezers – and it can still bite your hand. If this situation suits you, start a snakehead. But then you will not have an aquarium as a kind of ecosystem, but simply a place for a particular fish to temporarily stay. An aquarium in the true sense is an ecosystem, and it is necessary to create it entirely, starting from the inhabitants who live at the bottom, in stones, in the water column, in the upper layers – all niches must be occupied.
