Echinodorus amazonica

Echinodorus Amazonian or simply – Echinodorus Amazon, the scientific name of Echinodorus grisebachii “Amazonicus”. As the name implies, this plant is native to South America. The natural habitat covers the vast expanses of the Amazon basin, where Echinodorus is found everywhere in shallow water along the banks of rivers and backwaters.

It is a variety of other commercial varieties of Echinodorus Bleher and Echinodorus small-flowered and looks very similar to each other. из-за which are often confused. Echinodorus Amazona reaches a height of up to 40 cm, unlike related varieties, it has a narrowly lanceolate, slightly curved (sickle-shaped) shape of the leaf plate. The leaves grow from a single center – a rosette, which passes into a branched root system.

This unpretentious plant is able to grow in a wide range of hydrochemical values ​​and does not need nutrient-rich soil. Minerals that are naturally formed in the aquarium (food leftovers, fish excrement) will be sufficient. In favorable conditions, it grows quickly, 1-2 new leaves can form every week.
