We have collected seven cat breeds, typical representatives of which are good at water. But if your pet is afraid of water, you should not force him – even among these breeds there may be exceptions. And vice versa: if your cat does not belong to the breeds from the list below, but still likes to swim, then you are in luck.

  1. Norwegian Forest Cat

    These cats are very independent and independent. They are curious and will spend time outdoors with pleasure, so keeping in a country house with its own territory is ideal for them. And if there is a pool, then do not be surprised to see your pet in it: these cats are great swimmers.

  2. Maine Coon

    These giants are very fond of water and swim with pleasure. In addition, they are very smart and even know how to memorize commands like dogs.

  3. Turkish van

    These energetic pets are best not left alone in the bathroom when you fill it for yourself: there is a risk that when you return, you will catch the cat having a swim. The Turkish Van is very affectionate and playful, you definitely won’t get bored with it.

  4. Turkish angora

    These cats are not afraid of water at all and are excellent swimmers. They are inquisitive and active, but mostly monogamous, so they are suitable primarily for single people.

  5. Siberian cat

    Born hunters, these cats love to swim. By their nature, they are very similar to dogs: they are very friendly and need to communicate with people.

  6. Abyssinian cat

    This is the most energetic cat breed. Abyssinians love to walk, play, swim – they are constantly on the move. They are incredibly curious, so they always keep company with their owner, no matter what he does.

  7. Manx cat

    These tailless cats are very active and cheerful. They love to swim, as well as run and jump, so they need a lot of space at home to throw out all their energy.
