Caring for a long haired dog

 You can talk almost endlessly about caring for long-haired dogs.  If we are talking about pets, then, as a rule, they are shaved or cut. The main care for such dogs: washing and combing. Moreover, combing is even more important than “water procedures”. It is necessary to comb out long-haired dogs at least once a week, otherwise the hair will turn into solid tangles. If we are talking about an exhibition specimen, then such dogs have to be combed at least once every 1 days. Moreover, you will have to use balms, remedies for the formation of tangles, antistatic agents, oils, etc. Each owner accumulates his own arsenal of “chips” for caring for a pet. Some wind hairpins, someone weaves pigtails for dogs, makes “tails”, puts on caps to protect the coat from the adverse effects of the environment. Indeed, for an exhibition long-haired dog, wool is the main asset. Even if, in terms of anatomy, the dog gives odds to all rivals, but his “three hairs” are bad, he will not see the championship title.

Long-haired dogs differ from each other in the type of coat.

 The long coat can be silky (Yorkshire Terrier, Silky Terrier, etc.) or coarser (eg Shih Tzu, American Cocker Spaniel).The American Cocker Spaniel has a coarser coat than the Yorkshire Terrier.The Lhaso Apso or the English Cocker Spaniel boasts an even tougher coat. Moreover, English Cocker Spaniels, in turn, also have different types of coat, which depend on the color: white coat is stiffer, chocolate is softer, and black is harder, than fawn. As a result, one dog can have up to three different types of coat. The Tibetan Terrier has an even coarser long coat. His hair, of course, is not horse-like yet, but it is very different from wool, for example, cocker spaniels. Pets (and in 90% of cases they flaunt a haircut) should be washed about 1 time per month. Exhibition dogs are washed at least 1 time per week , and each time the whole range of care products is used and the procedure is carried out as if you were entering the ring tomorrow. Of course, exhibition cosmetics are not used, as they are very different from everyday hair care products. Exhibition cosmetics have a tougher effect, but the validity period is short: today – tomorrow. The task of everyday cosmetics is to keep the coat in a healthy state between exhibitions: moisturize, nourish, preserve.
