Can dogs love?

This question may seem strange, even to stupid dog lovers. However, let’s still figure out how things are from a biological and psychological point of view. So, can dogs love in general and owners in particular?

Can dogs love?

Scientists have already found out that the structure of the nervous system of all mammals is very similar, almost the same. And the basic emotions inherent in humans are also experienced by animals. These are emotions such as joy, surprise, sadness, anger, disgust, fear. And some emotions they experience even stronger than we do.

The difference between us is in the presence of speech, that is, the second signal system. Thanks to her, we are able to comprehend emotions and evaluate them. Animals are not capable of this.

However, it has been proven that in the presence of a creature that an animal feels good for (and such a creature can be a person, of course), it experiences strong positive emotions. And in the absence of such a being, they are negative.

However, in relation to animals, the term “affection” is still more often used, and not love. And what is attachment, how it is measured and what happens, we have already written.

Nevertheless, if we consider that love is the joy of communication, we can safely say that dogs know how to love. And they show us in every possible way.
