Butterfly

A relatively new breed of Goldfish, appeared on the free market only since the 1980s. It was first launched in China, but currently comes mainly from Japan. It is the result of further selection of the Telescope and has many features in common with it, for example, eyes protruding from the sides of the head.

Butterfly

The main distinguishing feature of the Goldfish Butterfly is the structure of the tail fin. When viewed from above, it resembles butterfly wings in its shape. At the base, it expands and narrows towards the end, rounding off. Coloring can be different, each set of colors has its own names: “Panda Butterfly” – black and white colors, “Little Panda Butterfly” – a combination of red and black speckles in the body pattern.

The content is quite simple and does not differ from the content of other Goldfish. However, it is worth considering the presence of two features – bulging eyes and a large tail. They can be damaged by sharp edges of decorative elements or aggressive aquarium inhabitants. Accordingly, it is necessary to minimize these potential hazards. Another problem could be slowness. Again, due to the structure of the tail fin, the fish will lose in competition for food to more mobile neighbors.
