Buttercup water
Ranunculus inundatus or Buttercup water, scientific name Ranunculus inundatus. The plant comes from the Australian continent, is found everywhere near water bodies. It grows along the coastline on silted wet substrates, as well as in shallow water completely submerged.
Known in the aquarium trade since the 1990s. Often supplied under the name Ranunculus papulentus, which actually belongs to a different species not used in aquariums.
The plant forms creeping shoots, creeping along the ground, in the nodes of which there are bunches of roots and vertical petioles depart. Leaf blade pinnate with forked tips.
For healthy growth, it is necessary to provide a nutritious soil (special aquarium soil is recommended), a high degree of illumination and the introduction of carbon dioxide. The optimal concentration of dissolved gas is considered to be 30 mg/l. In favorable conditions, compact undersized thickets are formed. If Buttercup aquatic is experiencing a lack of light, then the petioles are greatly elongated, significantly reducing the attractiveness of the bush.
Can land on the banks of ponds and lakes. Perfectly adapts to the climatic conditions of the temperate zone in the summer, when the temperature does not fall below 10 ° C
