Bucephalandra Riam Makan

Bucephalandra Riam Makan, scientific name Bucephalandra sp. Riam Macan. Known in the aquarium trade since 2011, from the moment the first batches were delivered to Germany. In nature, it grows only on one island in Southeast Asia – Borneo, also known as Kalimantan. The plant takes its name from the Riam Macan waterfall in the western part of the island, where it was first discovered. It grows in humid environments, often submerged in water, along the coastline of streams and rivers flowing under the rainforest canopy.

Outwardly, it resembles another closely related species – Bucephalandra Serimba. The plant has dark green or grey-green leaves, sometimes with red tints. The shape of the leaf blade is elliptical, slightly asymmetrical. Surface rough, rough из-за numerous silvery specks – stomata. The stem is short, creeping, with a well-developed root system capable of holding the plant securely on almost any flat surface. Bucephalandra Riam Makan cannot be planted in open ground, it must be attached to stones or pieces of snags.

Easy to grow in both aquarium and paludarium. because of features of growth does not need nutrient soil. Prefers soft slightly acidic water with a temperature of 20-26°C. Any level of illumination.
