Types of Aquarium Plants

Bucephalandra Kedagang

Bucephalandra Kedagang, scientific name Bucephalandra sp. “Kedagang”. The plant is from Southeast Asia from the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo, also known as Kalimantan. The exact origin of the name is unknown, but probably related to the name of one of the regions of Indonesia – Kedagang. It grows along the banks of small rivers and streams flowing under a hollow tropical forest, located on any surfaces – stones, rocks, trunks of fallen trees.

Bucephalandra Kedagang

Bucephalandra Kedagang has small leaves with a wavy edge up to four in length and less than one centimeter wide. The leaf blade is often twisted. Color varies from dark red to green. A short creeping stem with a powerful root system allows you to securely attach to almost any surface. However, the roots are not suitable for rooting in the open field, so you can not stir the plant directly on the substrate.

Able to grow in aquariums in a submerged position, and in the humid environment of paludariums. Relatively unpretentious, perfectly adapts to varying degrees of illumination, but needs slightly acidic soft water in a small range of comfortable temperatures.
