Bolbitis heteroclita “Cuspidata”, scientific name Bolbitis heteroclita “cuspidata”. Comes from Southeast Asia. It was first collected for classification on the Philippine island of Luzon on the Lamao River in the middle 1950-x years. For a long time it was considered an independent species (Bolbitis cuspidata), but later it was found that it is a kind of bizarre Bolbitis.
It is widely used in ornamental gardening in Asian countries, as well as in paludariums. In the aquarium hobby, it began to be used relatively recently, only in 2009. In the surface position, the fern has rather long stems, on which are arranged in pairs dark green leaflets. It can reach a height of up to 30 cm. In a submerged position, it is much smaller, forms dense, undersized clusters. The leaves resemble miniature plates attached to the sides of the stem. Grows on both soil and any surfaces. The creeping rhizome is perfectly adapted for attaching to snags and rough stones. Grows slowly. Perfectly adapts to various conditions. It is not picky about the level of illumination, the hydrochemical composition of water and the temperature regime.
