Bandages vs boots

The eternal question for riders, especially dressage riders, which has become the most relevant in recent years, due to the appearance on the market of ammunition of a huge number of so-called “dressage boots”, what to choose: bandages or boots?

The only reasonable criterion for choosing in favor of a particular product should be your horse’s leg health. Everything else is aesthetics, which, as we know, in dressage means a lot.

The horse had tendon injuries? Is there any predisposition to this, while she carries high intensity exercise? Then you need bandages, but not fleece, but combined, which include first a padded jacket, and then an elastic part. Now, fortunately, there are quite a lot of them in Russia. You can choose from Kentucky, a proven brand of very high quality, or just as good but slightly more budgetary Italian brand Animo.

If your horse’s legs are healthy, then you can make life easier for yourself and switch to those very “dressage” boots for example, Waldhausen, anky or Zandona.

Or on any other boots that will protect the legs from mechanical damage, and in which they won’t sweat, such as the simple and concise Eskadron or the stylish Veredus.

But if you’re still into “Old Believers”and are accustomed to fleece bandages in the color of the saddle clothoh, don’t forget about quilted jackets, which will provide additional support to the tendons during work. Dressage especially honors high padded jackets, as, for example, in the budget German brand Waldhausen or, which appeared not so long ago on the Russian market, padded jackets French Harcour brand, which added a little sequins on the edge.

The choice is yours, but don’t be afraid to try something new!
