Types of Aquarium Plants

Bacopa pinnate

Bacopa pinnate, scientific name Bacopa myriophylloides. grows from southeastern and the central part of Brazil in an area called Pantanal – a vast swampy area in South America with its own unique ecosystem. It grows along the banks of reservoirs in a submerged and surface position.

Bacopa pinnate

This species is very different from the rest of Bacopa. On an upright stem, a “skirt” of thin leaves is arranged in tiers. In reality, these are only two sheets, divided into 5–7 segments, but it is not noticeable so that simply. In the surface position, they can form light blue flowers.

It is considered quite demanding and needs the creation of special conditions, namely: soft acidic water, high levels of lighting and temperatures, soil rich in minerals. It is worth being careful when choosing other plants, especially floating ones, which are able to create an extra shadow, which will negatively affect the growth of Bacopa pinnate. In addition, not all plants will feel comfortable in such conditions.
