Backpack for carrying dogs. How to choose?

Compact and convenient, carrying bag can become an indispensable device for active owners of small dogs. If the pet is tired on a long walk or you have a trip with him, then it is easiest to carry such a bag, because both hands remain free. And the design is varied: some backpacks for small dogs look so unusual that the owner and his pet immediately find themselves in the spotlight.

What to look for:

• First of all, bags differ in the material from which they are made. There are hard and soft models. If you are not traveling with a pet, you can purchase backpack made of soft fabric. If you are planning a trip with air travel, you should take a closer look at options made of plastic;

• Pay attention to the models of bags made of waterproof fabric. If you get caught in the rain, you can not worry about your pet – the fabric will not get wet;

• Some manufacturers offer backpacks with many pockets: for treats, toys, bowls, etc. Choose the model that seems more convenient to you;

• When choosing a backpack bag, be guided by its size: a number of models are not suitable for animals weighing more than 15 kg.

When buying, evaluate the quality of the seams, the strength of the material and the reliability of the fasteners. Also pay attention to the quality of the handles and the material from which they are made, because this is what ensures the comfort of the owner when using the backpack.

A dog sling is no different from a baby sling. The principle is the same – the elastic fabric is wrapped in a certain way around the back of the owner.

The kangaroo backpack is a bag that also resembles a child’s accessory. This is an open type bag, it is perfect for hiking in the summer. Such a bag is selected according to the size of the pet. Manufacturers offer several models: the largest is designed for animals weighing 6–8 kg. By the way, often a kangaroo backpack can be transformed into a shoulder bag.

Such bags for dogs are compact and do not take up much space, unlike, for example, a plastic box. Therefore, it is especially convenient to use them when moving around the city.

How to make the trip comfortable for the dog?

1. Experts advise using taxi services if you do not have your own car. Still, in a limited space alone with the owner, the dog feels more confident.

2. If you have to travel by public transport, make sure that the pet reacts calmly to strangers, does not bark, does not rush or try to bite.

3. Carefully read the rules for transporting dogs on the subway and on land transport. They may differ in different cities.

4. It is better if at first the trips are not very long – one or two stops. This will help the dog gradually get used to the new environment.

5. During the trip, behave calmly, talk to the dog, if it starts to get nervous, pet it. You can often meet people who will be dissatisfied with the neighborhood with animals. Do not swear with them, talking in a raised voice can make the dog more nervous.

6. If possible, then in public transport it is better to choose places where there are not a lot of people so as not to embarrass anyone.
