Maintenance and care

Axelrod’s Corydoras is unpretentious and its maintenance will not cause great difficulties if it is in a suitable environment, receives a balanced diet and does not conflict with its neighbors.

The optimal size of the aquarium for a group of 4-6 fish starts from 40 liters. The design is simple, the focus is on the lower tier. It is advisable to use soft substrates, such as coarse sand or fine rounded gravel, and provide several places where the fish can hide.

It is important to ensure high quality of water within the allowable range of temperatures and values of hydrochemical parameters. To do this, the aquarium is equipped with all the necessary equipment, in particular a filtration system, and regular maintenance procedures are carried out: weekly, part of the water is replaced with fresh water, accumulated organic waste (food residue, excrement) is removed.

Food. The fish will accept most of the popular foods in the aquarium trade in dry, frozen and live form. The benthic lifestyle of the Pink Corridor involves the use of sinking feed. It will be difficult for catfish to eat products floating on the surface.

behavior and compatibility. Peaceful and sociable fish that prefers to be in a group of relatives from 4-6 individuals. Compatible with other types of Corydoras, but at the same time, different groups do not mix, each species tends to be separate. They get along well with most freshwater non-aggressive fish of a comparable size.
